A 21 years old young girl “Lexie Alford” has recently broken a record by being the youngest lady to visit every country of the world. She achieved an astonishing feat that many of us dream of. Her extraordinary odyssey is expected to be enrolled in Guinness Book of World Record.
Youngest Girl to Visit Every Country
Lexi Alford said, she felt relief when she stepped in to country number 196 “North Korea” on May 31.
She travelled to every sovereign nation. That’s 196 countries she visited and she documented her amazing journey across the world.
By her 18th birthday, she had already travelled to 72 nations.
Alford grew up in a family that owns a travel agency in California. While she was growing, her family travelled to almost every country and everywhere from villages to skyscraper cities.
Alford was not planning to break a record – Youngest Girl to Visit Every Country
She was just a random traveler. In the beginning she wanted push the limits off and explore as she could do. But in 2106, she got serious and planned to travel every single country in the world. When she turned 18, she realized that she had already travelled to 72 countries. And the very first time she came up with an idea to be the youngest girl to visit every country and break the world record that was in October 2016.
Alford said that her travels are self-funded and never had any sponsorship.
She is been working as a travel consultant in her family’s travel agency. She kept her monthly wages as low as possible by living at home with her parents. I don’t spend money on unnecessary material possessions. The money she saved helped her to continue her journey for one and a half year.
Alford highlighted some amazing travels that gone totally unexpected. She said, “The countries with such a bad reputation and people don’t dare to go to are the places that ignited my curiosity. I found so much love and kindness in countries like Pakistan and Venezuela that are often labeled as dangerous countries for tourism.
The exciting challenge – Youngest girl to visit every country
Another exciting challenge she accomplished was stepping in to the last country North Korea. After months of trying to get around the US travel ban, she finally got the lucky chance to visit North Korea in May.
Alford says, “My biggest takeaway from this whole journey has not figured out yet and this is the question that’s going to take me longest to unpack.” Some important messages she learned and shared on social sites are:
- Don’t spend your money on unnecessary material possessions.
- My advice to young people who want to do this: Believe that you can do anything you set your mind to.
