A concerned mum was filled with terror when she saw a huge black mark on her the top of her daughter’s mouth. But soon after, the black mark in the kid’s mouth embarrassed mum.
Darian Depreta was playing with her beautiful little girl Bella when she found the huge circular mark. She tried to wash it off but started to panic when it didn’t disappear. She said: “So I’m playing with Bella today and notice the roof of her mouth is black.
I try wiping it to see if it would come off, and it didn’t. I instantly call Chandler, my mom and best friend in a panic. I make her a doctor’s appointment that was about 30 minutes from the time I saw her mouth.
When they got to the GP, the therapist also unsuccessfully attempted to wipe it off, then said she had never seen anything like it. Doctors then proposed it could be a birthmark but Darian, who lives in the US, emphasized it wasn’t as she examines her mouth daily to clean it.
Darian said: “I’m now being told that my daughter will be set up with 2 experts. After declaring it wasn’t a birthmark on the roof of her mouth, the NP decided to take another look at this medical riddle. “I point out it looks a little white on the side and she gets in there trying to rub it.”
And then they realized what it was… The Black Mark in the Kid’s Mouth
“Only to find out it was cardboard from a box Bella chewed cemented to the roof of her mouth.”
“I can never show my face in that office again. I screamed and laughed for a consecutive 5 minutes straight.” While Darian is embarrassed about the situation, she acknowledges it could have been much more dangerous. She says: “Yes she could have suffocated on it and I’m thanking God she did not.”
The only reason it was posted was that after crying, panicking and attempting to figure out what it was? Even the doctors didn’t even recognize she was ok. The laugh was after the blast of it all.
And I don’t allow my baby chew on cardboard. She’s teething and tries to chew on everything. She just so happened to find a box while I was packing the dishwasher, which I, of course, took off of her right away.
I just didn’t understand a piece got stuck up there. I inspected her mouth for small pieces right away.
