A 4-year-old girl is honored as a hero by the California police department for keeping her 3-month-old brother alive for several days after the mysterious death of her parents. The hero girl kept her infant brother alive for three days.

“Our little angel was able to keep herself and her brother alive,” said Maureen Ryan, Los Angeles police Captain in a media brief.

“The baby is a miracle baby, and the little girl is a hero. She’s an absolute hero.”

According to police, the two children were stuck in their home for three days after their parent’s suicide-murder on April 18. Her father fatally shot her mother before killing himself. The dead parents were identified as David Kooros Parsa, 46 and Mihoko Koike, 38.

On 21st April, the kids were found by a couple named Olivia and James Robinson who lived in the neighborhood and become concerned after police carried a welfare check but found nothing doubtful. It’s not sure if the police entered the home or not.

When police officers left the home, the couple decided to check on the kids themselves.

“I begged him not to go back in there, but he went back in there because he wanted to find the baby,” Olivia Robinson said of her husband, James.

Olivia Robinson told that her husband found the girl alone downstairs and the boy upstairs.

“She was in bad condition because she smelled badly of urine, and she had more of a blank stare on her face. She was very, very quiet.”

James Robinson remembered the moment he realized something was wrong.

“I think she may have said they were sleeping, but she told me that they’re upstairs and they’re hurt,” said James Robinson. “Right there, we figured it’s just not good.”

Police believe Kooros shot his wife while she slept before killing himself on the morning of April 18. The kids were uninjured.

Tony Medina, another neighbor, brought the 4-year-old to his home until police arrived. Right after that, first responders took the kids to a nearby hospital for inspection. Both were finally placed in the supervision of the Department of Children’s Family Services.
