A General of a Roman army “Maximus” runs as a deserter for his life because of his cruel fate. He is found by slave traders where he is accompanied by an African slave called Juba. Maximus and Juba are then purchased by Proximo, the manager of the local gladiator school. Meanwhile the Emperor Commodus sponsors gladiatorial games in Rome to commemorate his father’s death. Maximus and Juba are scheduled in the fighting arena of the colosseum. In colosseum Maximus faces the reason of his bad fate Commodus. Commodus visits him beneath the Colosseum, and tells him that they’ll fight in the arena. Before the battle, Commodus stabs him in the back and orders his general to cover up the wound. In the final battle both of the participants die after a dramatic fight.
