The world’s first gold plated hotel is now open for business in Vietnam. The 24-storeyed hotel lies by Giang Vo Lake, in the middle of the Vietnamese capital, and costs $200 million to build. It has been a long time since many have traveled following the harmful effects of the coronavirus. But that has not stopped Vietnam from inaugurating five-star Dolce Hanoi Golden Lake hotel – the world’s first self-proclaimed gold-plated hotel.
World’s First Gold Plated Hotel
The hotel is owned by Hoa Binh Group and operated by the U.S.-based Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Inc. It has 24-carat plating across lobbies, an endlessness pool, and rooms with even cutlery, cups, showerheads and toilet seats receiving the golden touch, took about $200 million and 11 years to construct the 400 rooms hotel. Coffee is served in a gold cup and bath time is taken in gilded brightness.
Though it may sound expensive for many, prices start at $250 a night it is not very disappointing for many super wealthy pals like Dan Bilzerian out there who want to enjoy the luxury life.
The hotel wants “ordinary people to the super-rich… to check-in” both physically and on social media, said Nguyen Huu Duong, chairman of Hoa Binh group that owns the hotel.
A gold-plated infinity pool faces the city, while refreshments at the 25-story hotel in downtown Hanoi may be confused with a mysterious “gold substance”, according to the owners.
The comparatively inexpensive construction price tag was achieved by sourcing the gold plating locally — significantly decreasing costs.
“Our group has a factory that can do gold-plated stuff, so the cost for our equipment and furniture here is quite cheap,” Duong said.
The management of the hotel wants people from all backgrounds to experience their wonderland and enjoy the luxurious experience, not just the billionaires. Anyone who visits the hotel says he feels like King Midas with a golden touch. Anything thing they touch turns into gold.
