A little boy is giving away Christmas gifts to homeless people during a shopping tour in Gloucester with his mom Jodie. Toby Niblett, a 6-year-old kid’s noble gesture came after he found homeless people who sleep in shop doorways.
He asked her mom “Jodie” if Santa would give them a home for Christmas. Jodie was surprised by the unexpected question, but she felt it is best, to be honest, she replied, “I don’t think Santa would be able to do that for everyone in need.”
Toby then proposed to get them gifts if Santa wasn’t able to give them all a home. So that’s what he did.
Jodie shared his argument on social media: “We waited until my wages came in.”
Then the next weekend he was up at 7 am for the bus. He wandered all around Gloucester with me to fill five bags to the edge of necessities for the homeless. He paid for them with his money and insisted on packing the bags himself. He wrote a special note on each card.”
With the bags filled the next weekend Jodie and Toby went back and gave them all out.
“I am so proud of how thoughtful he is. Children do have the biggest hearts. He is my inspiration,” Jodie said.
Toby is now likely to receive an award from the local newspaper in Gloucester which is looking for the city’s most selfless and noble person. A weekend hotel break is a prize.
