Few things and action many be small or sometimes they are neglected. But their might a story or lesson behind it and it may bring changed in one’s life. That’s what happened. Well, few days earlier a photo of dad changing the baby’s diaper in the public toilet has changed the company’s policy. It happened when a father Donte Palmer‘s photo from Florida hit the internet. At that time nor he nor anybody thought that this photo would lead to a major change. And now dads also change diapers.

After that “Pampers announced that by 2021, they will install 5,000 changing tables in men’s public toilets. The reason: Dads also change diapers!”

The Family

Donte was in one of the restaurants with his three children, when he had to change a diaper of his 1 year old son. When he entered the public toilet with the child, there was no changing table, so he did the job on his legs.

The man is a high school teacher and parent, isn’t asking for too much: He simply wants restaurants and public places to install changing tables in men’s bathrooms so fathers can change their kid’s diapers in a clean and comfortable environment.

Fathers with Sons

Donte Palmer says, “It gives access to so many fathers out in the world.” – Dads also change diapers

According to him, He was disappointed that there were no changing tables in men’s public toilets. He said that it feel like that as if we don’t exist, he wrote on the photo

Now, in the last press release published on June 10, Pampers said that they will install 5,000 changing tables in public toilets. They will cooperate with the company Koala Kare, which is engaged in the production and installation of modern changing table’s.

Specifically, they hope to target “parks and recreation centers, community centers and libraries in cities such as Cincinnati, Dallas, Philadelphia, Detroit, and many others across the U.S. and Canada,” the statement noted. The first 500 locations have already been chosen.

When he first took the picture, it was something he posted in his own frustrations, he told to reporter. He said, I just posted it for my family and friends. I never expected for it to get this big. But it has happened. So (my wife and I) decided to advocate for fathers. This is a huge issue.”

With that, Palmer and his wife, Lakeisha Palmer, started Squat for Change, a grassroots organization to ensure that all family members have access to a safe and clean changing table.

Palmer also said the lack of diaper stations in men’s rooms underscores the roles that fathers play in the lives of their children.

“Many fathers are present caretakers but either we don’t get recognition or get too much credit for doing basic tasks,” Palmer told Yahoo Lifestyle. “Why should I have to lay my son across my legs? That’s not cool.”
